The Medical Detective on Medicinal Mushrooms
Recently I met with Dr. Richard Horowitz to discus the results of our most recent laboratory tests conducted for our GOMushrooms tinctures.
To give some background, Dr. Horowitz is an internationally recognized physician practicing in Hyde Park, NY. He is an award-winning author of two bestselling books on Lyme disease and chronic illness, and co-author of the 2018 HHS Tick-borne Disease Working Group report to Congress. He has received humanitarian awards from the Turn the Corner Foundation and Project Lyme, has appeared on numerous local and national media outlets—including the Today show and Fox News, for his work on Lyme disease and COVID-19—and is now providing novel solutions for our climate emergency.

We highly recommend subscribing to this substack as health is so important! This paragraph from his substack particularly resonated with me:
"We’re currently in the throes of a global epidemic of chronic diseases, but there’s so much misinformation and confusion floating around that countless people are getting misdiagnosed, improperly treated, or dismissed and gaslit. There are so many health issues that need to be addressed—because there are answers, and there are treatments that work. But only if you know the right questions to ask.”
I love that! Yes, we need to know that we can ask questions about our health and that there are answers!

We meet people all the time who have chronic illness and I would say to them, yes, it takes having the determination to heal, but also finding resources like The Medical Detective that give us the solid research, the evidence and tools to cut through all the noise to find solutions that work for us.
Medicinal mushrooms give us powerful tools to address imbalances, anxiety, depression, illnesses such as hypertension, cholesterol issues, liver and kidney issues and on and on… We are just scratching the surface of what these mushrooms can help us with and it feels like we are just scratching the surface of what they can ultimately do for our bodies, mind and spirit. This is why I was attracted to working with medicinal mushrooms and started GO Mushrooms. The healing powers of medicinal mushrooms are truly amazing. It’s my personal belief that they are a part of the path to wholeness, but whether or not one believes that, you can’t argue with the evidence cited in studies of what they do for our mental cognition, nervous system, digestion and overall physical repair.
There is so much misinformation out there on medicinal mushrooms - and the array of products available in the market seems to be growing exponentially along with the difference in the quality of products available. We at GO Mushrooms would like to be a reliable place to go for effective medicinal mushroom supplements that are grown at our farm and extracted at our lab in Hudson, NY. We decided at the outset to create a company that would not prioritize profit over quality of product and it’s been a long road and I must say, a rewarding one!
I would encourage everyone to read Dr. Horowitz’s substack on Medicinal Mushrooms. His research is exacting and fascinating (definitely not a fluff piece) - and right in line with what we know about medicinal mushrooms! I’ve been reading everything Medicinal mushrooms for a while now, and I learned some interesting things.
Overall, I would encourage everyone to do some research and also to avail yourself of experts such as the Medical Detective for informed expert information.
